Stress Management, Boundaries and Mindfulness: My Conversation on the Phyzix Podcast

Stress management tools, boundary-setting tips, and mindfulness strategies on the Phyzix Podcast.

I recently had the pleasure of sitting down with Jia Li from Phyzix for a thoughtful conversation on managing stress, setting boundaries, and finding ways to thrive even when life feels overwhelming.

Whether you’re navigating high stress at work, balancing family and career, or trying to shift unhelpful thought patterns, I hope these insights inspire you to pause, reset, and move forward with more clarity and compassion for yourself.

1. Why Stress Isn’t Always the Enemy

Stress is a natural part of life, but the way we respond to it matters. In the episode, I talked about reframing stress not as something to eliminate completely, but as a signal. With the right tools, we can shift from feeling controlled by stress to using it as a motivator for healthy change.

2. Setting Boundaries Without Guilt

For many of us, saying “no” can feel uncomfortable. We discussed how perfectionism, people-pleasing, and fear of disappointing others often get in the way of setting limits. Boundaries aren’t selfish. They’re a form of self-care that protects your time, energy, and mental health.

3. Practical Tools for Managing Anxiety and Overwhelm

During the podcast, I shared some of my go-to strategies, including:

  • Square breathing to regulate your nervous system.

  • Dropping Anchor to ground yourself when emotions feel intense.

  • Self-compassion exercises to reduce self-criticism and boost resilience.

4. The Role of Mindfulness in Daily Life

Mindfulness isn’t just about meditation—it’s about paying attention to the present moment without judgment. We explored how small, consistent mindfulness practices can help you feel more centered, even during busy or stressful days.

5. Giving Yourself Permission to Thrive

One of the most powerful shifts we can make is believing we deserve to feel happy and fulfilled, not just “get by.” I encourage my clients (and myself) to regularly check in on what matters most and take intentional steps toward a life that feels meaningful.

If you’re ready to explore these tools and strategies in more depth, you can listen to the full conversation in the link above or watch it on YouTube.
